What is gasification?

It is an advanced thermal treatment technology which converts waste to energy. It is not a form of incineration, and produces considerably lower levels of emissions than incineration

The preferred EfW technique

Gasification projects are received more favourably than conventional incineration technologies, with the process being classified by the Environment Agency as ‘Best Available Technique’.

The way forward

More stringent environmental regulations, and volatile oil and natural gas prices, are contributing to the growing interest in gasification as the preferred process in the EfW sector
