Gasification

the process

Gasification is an advanced thermal treatment technology which recovers energy from waste feedstock. It is not a form of incineration; instead it heats feedstock with less oxygen than traditional combustion methods and in doing so reduces carbon emissions.

Gasification projects are received favourably , with the process being classified by the Environment Agency as ‘Best Available Technique’.

The way forward

Gasification is gaining traction as the preferred process in the renewable energy sector, with more stringent environmental regulations and volatile oil and natural gas prices contributing to the growing interest in the technology.

Kobelco’s gasification technology is installed at our Hooton Park facility.
