CoGen appoints Managing Director

CoGen Limited (CoGen), a leading Advanced Gasification Waste to Energy Company within the UK is delighted to announce that Ian Miller, former Operations Director for MWH Treatment Limited (MWH), has been appointed as Managing Director taking over the role from David Pike who from the launch of CoGen in August 2014 has held joint roles of MD and Chairman. David has led CoGen from concept and will now be concentrating on the role of Chairman while Ian manages the business through the next phase of planned growth and development.

Since October 2012, Ian has been the Operations Director at MWH. He is an experienced Director with vast knowledge of energy recovery, funding, project management and leading business growth. During his role at MWH, Ian was solely responsible for establishing the energy recovery division, taking it from an emerging business opportunity through to a credible £40m turnover.

Ian also brings a wealth of understanding of the CoGen business having worked in partnership with the CoGen team on the Ince Bio Power project. This insight combined with over 11 years experience in the energy recovery sector puts Ian in an excellent position to lead the next development phase of the CoGen business.

Ian’s role will directly support the Board and Ian Brooking, CEO of CoGen, to deliver the business growth strategy including the pipeline of projects and management of the operational assets owned by CoGen.

David Pike, CoGen Chairman, commented:

“After conceiving O-Gen UK in 2005, and seeing the business grow into CoGen through tremendous efforts by all involved, it is a positive step for the business to appoint Ian. His enthusiasm and drive to take up the challenge will be of great benefit. Having worked closely with Ian for four years the Board and I firmly believe that Ian is the man to work with our CEO in taking the company forward.”

Ian Brooking, CoGen CEO, commented:

“The Board is delighted that Ian has accepted the offer as Managing Director. Ian brings an invaluable combination of skills and experience to the CoGen business and I look forward to working with Ian to deliver our growth plans and manage our operational assets.”

MWH is hugely supportive of the move. Rolfe Nuttall commented:

“Ian has been an excellent asset to MWH and having worked with CoGen previously we can see this is an excellent career move for him. On behalf of the team here we want to wish him the best of luck and look forward to working with him and CoGen on future Bio Power projects.”

Ian Miller commented:

“I am very excited by the prospect of leading the CoGen business as it continues to grow. Their ethos to eliminate the difference between waste and energy is one I personally champion and so I look forward to taking CoGen through the next development phase and bringing this ethos closer to reality.”
