Hooton Bio Power

Hooton Bio Power is a 28 MWe Waste Gasification plant utilising the Kobelco Fluidised bed technology. It is located on an industrial site in Cheshire, adjacent to the Manchester Ship Canal.

A feedstock supply agreement has been signed for 235,000 tpa of RDF over 15 years with Dutch alternative fuel supplier N+P Group who will source waste locally. Hooton Bio Power has entered into a lease agreement on the site with Peel Environmental.

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (“BWSC”) are doing a full EPC design and build contract on the project and will operate and maintain the facility once completed. CoGen are again overseeing the construction and operation of the facility on behalf of the project company whilst operating the project company itself.
